Every customer is valued, and as such I want all my customers to receive the freshest possible Arbroath Smokies; smokies of a quality that has won me many national awards, endorsed and used by so many of the country’s top chefs. However, in order to do that I do not keep a stock of 'ready- made' smokies. I prefer to smoke fish as near to despatch as possible, virtually smoked to order!
Unlike farmed fish such as trout and salmon, Arbroath Smokies (Haddock) are wild fish and thus need to be caught at sea. Occasionally there are times when bad weather limits the boats catching capabilities, which can then lead to shortages of supply on the fish markets. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure your order is despatched within two to three working days there may be instances when this is simply not possible so please bear with us. We will inform you if this is the case.

Delivery charges; £8.50 on all orders below £50. Orders of between £50-£99.99 the carriage is £5.00.
If you can make up a larger order (over £100) then carriage is free. So how about making up an order with friends, either to share the carriage charge or even make it up to the carriage free rate?
We use DPD as our overnight carrier who guarantee to deliver to you on a next day service. You can opt to pay a small surcharge of £4.50 in order for your parcel to be delivered before 12 noon.
We deliver to most areas of the mainland UK. For orders to Channel Islands and Scottish Islands please contact before ordering to check carriage charges. Sorry, but I do not send beyond the UK and Northern Ireland.
Orders are normally despatched on Mondays and Thursdays but other despatch days may be arranged on request. Saturday deliveries are possible, but are considerably more expensive. Please give us your preferred delivery date with your order. Unfortunately we do not deliver on Mondays.
All our products are sent to you fresh and securely packed by next working day delivery, except those parcels going to more remote destinations which may take a little longer. If in any doubt please call or email for advice. If next-day delivery is vital, please order before 11am and phone us on 07738 526632 to check.
Your order will be packed in new polystyrene boxes with ice gel packs to keep things cool, and bubble wrapped where necessary.
Your order will normally be delivered next day by DPD or in certain cases via Royal Mail Special Delivery (see order/delivery schedule). Your parcel can arrive any time between 9am and 5.30pm on the day you have specified, but delivery is not guaranteed for any particular time during the day.
It is therefore essential when ordering that you provide a contact telephone number as well as instructions for the courier company should you happen to be out when your goods are delivered. This could be an alternative house number (next door neighbour), or in a safe place on your property such as in your garage/porch/shed.
Please let us know as soon as possible if your order has not arrived within the time frame.
NB. Please be sure to give us your telephone number, which the courier company requires to accept the order.
